Breakfast in the Buff

DSCF1494.JPGIt takes a lot to get this one out of bed in the morning. I’ve tried everything.

Perfectly roasted coffee beans brewed and blended with cream and sugar.

Sugary fantastic breakfast breads.

Two-egg omelet stuffed to bursting with a sinful array of imported cheeses.

Promises that we’ll slide back in bed if only he’ll exit the hot sheets for 30 minutes and run out and snag the Times and the Daily News

Now we’re both searching for that magic a.m. formula—what gets you up and out of bed in the morning?

Our cookbook writing is in full swing and we’re trying to cook up ten sure-fire recipes that will make breakfast in the buff more delicious. Emails and comments are welcome!

Sunday morning breakfast to get my boyfriend up and running–oatmeal chocolate chip pancakes with just a hint of cinnamon…accompanied by crispy thick sliced bacon. works every time. :)

French toast stuffed with warm bananas. Had it many moons ago at the grand floridian and I have been trying to re-create it (with no success) ever since.

A toasted whole grain bagel with my homemade veggie cream cheese (I soften plain Philadelphia and mix in finely chopped peppers, cucumber, red onion, even broccoli, whatever produce is in the fridge, plus a little garlic.) Sometimes I top with smoked salmon if I’m feeling high-maintenance.

Especially good as a hangover cure after my honey and I stayed out all night having too much fun!

    Hey Brooke,

I was looking through (Pensacola) Bella and came across the article about you in it. So, I went to the website and here I am.

First, your Aunt Kristi and grew up together in Gulf Breeze. First neighbors, then friends, then family friends. (In fact, her nephew Brad who lives in Seattle is my son, Dimitri’s friend…..I know that is way too much information…..sorry! But another coincidence Dimitri is a chef too…..in Palm Springs, CA)

2nd….I am so impressed with your website….I’ve just got to get your book. I was wondering, if I could get you to autograph a copy for me and also one for my son who is the chef? What would be the best way to get er done? NEVERMIND….just saw the book signing date in the Pensacola area on Oct. 1 at Artesana….I will be there.

Be sure to mention to Aunt Kristi and Uncle Roger that I emailed you…..we unfortunately don’t get together, unless at a funeral (now is that a southern thing, I don’t know?). And all the best to you…..keep your passion…..you obviously have been blessed with extra.
