Cupid’s Majestic Pinup

b&gent.JPGBecause Valentine’s Day means distinguished gentlemen suitors and…

“…the Gawker Pinup Gallery, a recurring feature that is in no way tongue-in-cheek, but is, in fact, a serious testament to the massively important figures who have gained entry into the charmed circle that is New York new media society, shot in a style that best reflects their majesty.”

Cheers to new media, majesty and my dear, anonymous “Gawkie” commentors. They deserve love too…

  5. 5 BLBC Says:

Agreed: that old guy was v scarey looking. One question — what do your parents think of all this?

i approached this shoot with a sense of humor–i wanted to poke fun at all the \”new-blood-comes-to-the-city\” stereotypes. the majority of my readers –and the \”gawker\” readers– got the joke. others, however, took everything at face value. i wish they wouldn\’t. but, ultimately, i can\’t make everyone happy. i just have to please myself…and my editor, agent and parents.

that being said, all the important people loved the tongue-in-cheek photo spread. they saw it for what it was–publicity and image play. \”blbc,\” you know this merry go round…

Belle-just curious…why are you not talking about Jamie? You guys were supposed to have a book, and it’s been a long time since you’ve mentioned him…?

  8. 8 Parve (not really). Says:

Nice way to be subtle Ms. Millner. Subtle like a crushed glass sandwich with a chaser of nails, Ms. Millner. If that’s your real name.

  9. 9 BLBC Says:

And, with this type of thing, I tend to think — when you’re like 90 and hanging out with your grandchildren, you will look back at it and think: “yup, I had it…”

(I mean, I am sure you will still have “it” but you know what I mean.)

Just make sure you always do what is best for you, and not the other way around… because as a writer, female, etc, etc, on one level you always want to be taken seriously.

I am sure you know all this, but I am on deadline and goofing off.

You are gorgeous. Seriously. Why haven’t I met you?
