Sounds like a dinner date to me and I'd probably be doing that if I were single with an expense account. I know professional women who've expensed men, but usually with more of a longterm interest rather than a Saturday night payoff.

I'd be a D.W. too if I were a beautiful young writer in NYC. How does one write about such facets of life without entering the jeweler's shop...or the chef's restaurant? ;)

Hmm, if the women are called Dinner Whores, what are the older men with the corporate c-cards called?

Would you really call that dating though? Is going out with a man (or woman) "dating" if all you're interested in is a meal?

I thought the piece was excellent, by the way. Older men trying to woo women with little more than their wallets or corporate accounts deserve to be taken for a ride, and I don't mean the bedroom rollercoaster!
