Your mom has a good sense of humor. My mother, back in my Midwestern hometown, considers herself a conservative Republican and I consider her a thinker, and she has no truck with Fox News. She's more of a Henry Wallace kind of Republican though sort of socially conservative (but supports rights for gays and the right to an abortion.) What can I say? People are complex. He's almost a stereotype, this guy, going through three marriages in nine years. But a high-pressure job in media, working night shifts—yoy. That's one reason why I don't like the idea of working in media. I'd like to be published, and I wouldn't mind doing TV spots as a pundit, but jobs like this, writing copy at two in the morning...
